Yeo Wei Xin
No. I am not ga-ga over Mr. Yeo Wei Xin. How can someone ever be infatuated with such person?
As a matter of fact, I am jealous and annoyed. Extremely jealous and annoyed.
The fault probably does not lie with him, so do not misquote me.
The issue is his appearance on the latest series of New Moon's Chicken Essence advertisements, which can be found in bus-stops all over the island.
And I mean it, they are, or rather, Wei Xin's everywhere!

From Upper Bukit Timah Road, outside Coronation Shopping Plaza...

... to Lornie Road, just before the Adam Flyover...

... to Hougang Avenue 3, just outside Block 1...

There are many more of his ads at the bus-stops in the Defu Industrial Estates (I didn't bring my camera phone then). I am not so concerned over the sheer number of his portrait appearing at bus-stops; rather I frowned upon the choice of words used to describe this character in discussion.
Top 'A' Level Student? Define 'top'. How 'top' is top?
I do not have much details about his exact 'A'-Level grades, but if we were to define a "Top 'A'-Level Student" as one who obtains the maximum possible number of the highest-possible grade, i.e. the 'A' grade for core subjects and "Distinction" for his H3 subjects, Mr. Yeo Wei Xin certainly does not fit the criteria -- because he isn't one of the 3 Hwachongnians (and certainly not one of the 6 Rafflesians) to obtain 9 'A'-Level Distinctions, the maximum possible number of the highest-possible grade.
Wei Xin, at the most, scores the same number of distinctions as me.
And if that's the case, why wasn't I selected to be featured on the ad? Yes, I admit that I enjoy the limelight, so why not me? I am sure I can do just as well, if not better, than Mr. Yeo Wei Xin.
In fact, I think that my smile and my overall presentation look better than him.
Perhaps the relevant in-charge was unaware of my presence (and my outstanding grades). Perhaps one of Wei Xin's relatives had helped him to clinch this deal (whether is it against Wei Xin's wishes or not). Perhaps... perhaps... there are just too many conspiracy theories that I can come out with, but as I said, I am not going to fault We Xin and hate him with passion.
I am just jealous. Innocently jealous. Period. Not revengeful or whatsoever.
